It does not taste extremely like pumpkin — though it does have a hint… but perfect for fall.

Melt 3 TB peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Dip spoon fulls over the top of your brownie batter and then take a knife and swirl through it. Bake as above. Makes them even yummier!!

Budget Savvy Diva

Would applesauce work in place of the pumpkin? I’m pretty sure my kids won’t eat the pumpkin (nor will my husband!)
Budget Savvy Diva
Not sure 🙁

Do NOT tell them you added pumpkin!I made several times, with cake mixes too(Cake batter is a little thick, so I rinse out the can wih a dab of H20) and eventually family found out and they request it all the time!

I have a very similar recipe I use – I use a box of brownie mix with a can of black beans. You drain and rinse the black beans, put in the blender, puree the you-know-what- out of them, mix in with the mix, pour and bake. Super yummy! I learned this in my Weight Watchers meetings – 2 points a brownie (which is great)!

What’s the texture like? Still chewy like regular brownies, slightly less chewy, or more cake-like?

It’s been a while since you posted this, but I was curious if you could do this recipe with a can of sweet potatoes, puree the potatoes and do the same recipe?
I really am craving brownies and don’t have any eggs or pumpkin, just a can of sweet potatoes and some applesauce. Gonna have to try something!
