STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 4, 2022 – Three-time reigning world champion Nathan Chen headlines NBC Sports’ 15+ hours of live coverage of the 2022 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships, beginning this Thursday, January 6 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

The U.S. Figure Skating Championships serve as the final event to determine the U.S. Olympic team for the 2022 Winter Olympics, which begin in February across the platforms of NBCUniversal.

Live coverage begins Thursday on USA Network and Peaco*ck with the pairs’ (5-7 p.m. ET) and women’s (8:30-10:30 p.m. ET) short programs. On Friday, Jan. 7, the rhythm dance will be presented live on USA Network and Peaco*ck (4:30-6 p.m. ET), and the women’s free skate will air live on NBC and Peaco*ck (8-11 p.m. ET).

Weekend coverage begins on Saturday, Jan. 8, with the men’s short program live on NBC and Peaco*ck (4-6 p.m. ET), followed by the pairs’ free skate and free dance live on USA Network and Peaco*ck (7-10 p.m. ET). Live U.S. Championships coverage concludes on Sunday, Jan. 9 on NBC and Peaco*ck with the men’s free skate (2-4 p.m. ET).

Peaco*ck will stream coverage of every skate throughout the week live and on-demand, and will feature a practice cam.

Headlining the men’s field is Chen, who seeks his sixth consecutive U.S. title. With a victory, Chen would join Todd Eldredge as the only men in the last 70 years to win six national titles and would become the first to win six in a row since two-time Olympic gold medalist Dick Button, who won seven consecutive from 1946 to 1952. U.S. Olympic hopefuls Vincent Zhou, a 2018 Olympian and the 2021 Skate America gold medalist, and Jason Brown, a 2014 Olympian and nine-time Grand Prix medalist, are also expected to contend in the men’s field.

The women’s field features two-time U.S. champion Alysa Liu, 2021 U.S. silver medalist Amber Glenn, 2020 U.S. silver medalist Mariah Bell, and 2018 Olympian and 2017 U.S. champion Karen Chen.

In the pairs’ competition, reigning champions Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier highlight the field along with 2019 U.S. champions Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy LeDuc, and Jessica Calalang and Brian Johnson, who placed second in 2021 and 2020.

Three-time U.S. champions Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue look to defend their 2021 title in the ice dance event, and two-time champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who won national titles in 2020 and 2015, aim for their third gold medal after placing second last year.

Terry Gannon handles play-by-play for all disciplines, joined by analysts 1998 Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski, three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir, and 2006 Olympic silver medalist Tanith White. Andrea Joyce will be the on-site reporter.

Weir, who was elected to the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021, will be inducted this Sunday, Jan. 9 at Bridgestone Arena.

On Saturday, Jan. 15, NBC will present taped coverage of the free dance from 3-4 p.m. ET, followed by the Skating Spectacular on NBC from 4-6 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ Toe Picks!, a new free-to-play contest on the NBC Sports Predictor app for the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, features $5,000 in guaranteed prizes.

Coverage on NBC and USA Network is live streamed on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
