RWJBarnabas Health is proud to announce it offers the Aira app, a remote visual interpretation services app for the blind and low vision community, in all system hospitals and their respective buildings on campus. Use of Aira is part of our steadfast commitment to foster an inclusive setting to improve the health of the diverse patient communities we serve throughout New Jersey.Using a smartphone camera and the free Aira app, a visual interpreter provides guidance for the user in any environment. On this Mother's Day, Denise and her 9-year-old daughter Lily can celebrate their special bond of courage and their shared journey of resilience. Both had life-saving #heartsurgery at RWJBarnabas Health Health within the last year. Denise was at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center for an aortic bicuspid valve replacement with Northern CT Surgery Chair Dr. Arash Salemi. Daughter Lily had aortic arch reconstruction surgery of her heart at Children’s Heart Center at Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
