Who is best starter pokemon for brick bronze

This is for new players.

The best pokemon you should choose is Mudkip

1. When Mudkip evolves he learns ground attacks, ground attacks are super effective against electric. So you'll need it if you want to easier beat first gym

2. Mudkip is water type pokemon and he will easy defeat second gym

3. Midkip can defeat third gym easily too because water attacks are not very effective on him

4. Mudkip will also learn rock attack so he will easily defeat last gym

End

Be burned at fluoruma and types are more important in the later gyms

In my opinion, Mudkip is the best starter.

1st Gym - Electric: Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp easily, requiring minimal grinding. This will make Marshtomp immune to Electric because of it's Ground typing.

2nd Gym - Fire: This is easy pickings for Marshtomp

3rd Gym - Water: Marshtomp should have evolved into Swampert by now, and can tank hits that are normal effectiveness. Nonetheless, I brought along additional Pokemon, but they weren't needed.

4th Gym - Flying: Swampert's Rock Slide will 1- or 2-Shot every Pokemon while tanking hits, allowing it to survive until Braviary, the last Pokemon even if you are not skilful. Bring along another Pokemon and it should be easy.

5th Gym - Ground: Just 1-Shot everything with Scald (Learn via TM), including Mega-Garchomp.

6th Gym - Grass: This is where Swampert gets a bit weak. You have to get TM: Ice Beam and teach it to him if you want him to sweep the gym. Defeat all the trainers, then battle the Gym Leader. If needed, heal Swampert up to regain PP for Ice Beam. I used weaker Pokemon such as Lucario against the trainers to save Swampert's Ice Beam. Now, bring Swampert up for the Gym Leader. It should be alright until Mega-Venusaur, who will 1-Shot you with Solar Beam. Nonetheless, you should be able to get off 1 shot with Ice Beam, bringing it to around half-health. I used a Charizard to take care of it. Note that I used Mega-Swampert for the 5th and 6th Gym.

P.S I have used Swampert to great effect. The only things to take note of is that Swampert can only tank 1 grass-type hit, unless it's critical, before fainting. Swampert has only died twice, and I pretty much used him solo for the whole storyline so far.

Once again, no Starter Pokemon is perfect, each Pokemon has its own pros and cons -- Starter Pokemon are no exception, so there is no reason to argue or insist which one is the best. Unless you feel like taking on a challenge, I always recommend catching a full party which is balanced enough to cover all 18 types of Pokemon, and using the strength from all 6 of your Pokemon to the fullest. There is a reason why you have 6 slots instead of 1 slot in your team.

Weather Synchronize anyway charizard would get beaten pretty easily at rosecove anyway. Swampert would tank the hits anyway

If you mean swampert would tank it

Do you mean The water gym will tank it

Fire-type Starter Pokemon would have a bad time in Rosecove Gym, yep. Grass-type Starter Pokemon would have a bad time in Brimber Gym, yup. That's why you should bring in more back-up Pokemon! How many times do I have to emphasize that there are 6 slots in your team?

Swampert can take hits in Rosecove Gym, but on the other way round, it also cannot do much to the opponents there. You are better off bringing some Elec-type and Grass-type Pokemon to help you out. Are you guys seriously suggesting beginners to do a solo run with Mudkip family? Also, remember that Swampert is rather slow, and for the Ice Beam suggestion: Swampert is a Physical-based Pokemon, so Ice Beam won't work well on it. And who in the world uses Swampert in Fluoruma Gym? All Water-type Pokemon should keep themselves AWAY from one of their biggest weaknesses!

This argument is completely pointless. Just start with your favourite Starter Pokemon, or the one that best fits your battle style, then catch other Pokemon you like that can cover up the most types of Pokemon. Maximize the potential of a full party instead of only relying on your Starter Pokemon. Many beginners make the mistake of only focusing their training on Starter Pokemon, and eventually get themselves into trouble.

Well, Weather Synchronise, I am not arguing about which is the best Pokemon. I am simply debating that Swampert has much more Pros when fighting the Gyms than other starters. I agree that we should maximise the full battle party, but I am simply telling people, that in my opinion and experience, Mudkip is the best starter as of yet for the Gyms. Also, Swampert at Level 75 can outspeed all the Grass-type Pokemon except for Serperior, whose Razor Leaf will only bring it down to half health. However, please note that I stated that I brought along a Mega-Lucario and Mega-Charizard Y as I didn't want to risk losing. This is pointless debating the reasons about debating which is the starter pokemon. There are many opinions about the best starter, and this is simply my opinion and the reasons supporting it. We all are unique and have different ideas about the best starter. Simply accept that your battle style and 'best starter' is just unique to you and does not apply to everybody.
